Troubleshooting: Room & Door Displays

Door Display black, Room Display spinner, and session order mismatches.

Door Display is black or not updating

Symptom: The TV at the room entrance shows a black screen, a loading spinner, or an outdated agenda.

Step-by-step fix

  1. Reload the page — on the TV/tablet running Door Display, press F5 (or use a wireless keyboard). The display reconnects and shows the latest data.
  2. Check internet on that device — Door Display is a live web page. If the TV lost Wi-Fi, it shows a cached or empty state. Reconnect to Wi-Fi.
  3. Re-enter fullscreen — if someone pressed Escape (exiting fullscreen) and then the screen saver kicked in, it may look black. Wake the screen and press F11.
  4. Verify the correct Door Display URL — each room has its own link. Make sure the TV is showing the right room's link. Find it in the dashboard → room → Door Display.

Prevention: Disable screen saver and sleep mode on the TV/tablet before the event starts. Use Settings → Display → Never sleep on the device.

Room Display shows an infinite loading spinner

Symptom: The laptop screen connected to the projector shows a spinning animation and never loads the presentation controls.

Causes and fixes

Session order doesn't match the physical agenda

Symptom: Sessions are listed in the wrong order in the dashboard, or the Door Display shows them out of sequence.

Fix

  1. Go to dashboard → event → room → sessions list.
  2. Sessions can be reordered by dragging and dropping using the handle on the left side of each row.
  3. Alternatively, edit each session and update the start time — sessions sort automatically by time.
  4. Door Display and all other screens update in real time as soon as you save.

Prevention: When importing from CSV, make sure the rows are in chronological order. Start times determine display order. Always double-check the order after import, before the event begins.
